Dopingjouren är aktiv inom området forskning. Forskningen bedrivs i nära samverkan med Dopinglaboratoriet och avdelningen för klinisk farmakologi vid Karolinska Universitetssjukhuset/Karolinska Institutet. 
Främst har biverkningar (endokrina, kardiovaskulära) studerats och hur anabola androgena steroider (AAS) metaboliseras (farmakokinetiska/genetiska studier) i kroppen. Studierna har omfattat både friska försökspersoner och personer som brukar AAS.  Studier av interaktioner mellan AAS och läkemedel använda inom idrotten har också genomförts.
